Albert Charles Pitts (Charles) passed away 2nd March 2005 aged 85. He was a retired manager of a hosiery company which, he joined after service in the Royal Air Force during World War 2. He moved to Desford after the death of my Grandmother to be close to his only daughter Ruth, my Mother.

He was affectionately known as Pops, a name given to him by my children. He was a gentlemen to the end. A very independent man, a quiet man, a friend.

He was closely followed (a month to the day) by my father James Frederick Woolnough who will have his own site. It is fitting that they are interned together so that they can continue their discussions.

Pops, you will be missed.

Tributes

My wings are spread, my pain is gone-Do grieve for me-but not for long.
For wondrous peace surrounds my flight-I’m gliding towards that ray of light.
So grieve for me but not for long-Remember blessings not the wrong.
My life was full and so complete-Although the end was bittersweet.
You brightened up my everyday…By things you’d do, by things you’d say.
I’ll miss my life with you on Earth, but know you gave my life it’s worth.
I’m gliding towards a perfect place-No pain or sorrow, only grace.
My wings are spread, I’m soaring strong…Do grieve for me, but not for long.
